Although I’m a big fan of summer, I have to admit that autumn is my absolute favourite season. And the best thing about fall is that it’s ‘allowed’ to feed the birds in your garden again. And although peanut garlands look cute, things can always get more festive! So today I’ve got this ‘Pimp Your Peanut Garland DIY’ for you to create a true fall-garden-party. More after the jump!
This is what you’ll need:
– A bag of peanuts
– String
– A big needle
– Acrylic paint
– Brushes
– A fineliner
– A plastic container or jar with water to clean your brushes
– Paper towels (in case things get messy)
Grab a handful of peanuts and start painting. Yup, it’s easy as that. Pain them plain, give them dots or stripes or even make them into animals or puppets. Go all out!
Let the painted peanuts dry for a little while. Once they’re completely dry, you can add some accents using a fineliner.
Lace the peanuts to the string using the needle. You can lace them close together or further apart. Whatever you like!
I think this might be the easiest DIY ever, ’cause you’re kinda done! All that’s left to do is hang the string in your backyard, on your balcony or in the park like I did for the photos below. Now it’s just waiting for the birds to arrive.
Will you be trying this DIY? If you do, please tag me on instagram (@verabertens), I’d love to see the outcome!
P.S: The paint on the peanuts does not harm the birds, since they throw away the shells and only eat the peanut that’s inside.
