A lot has changed for me in this past year. We finally found a new home, I got engaged and I experienced a lot of personal growth. And it wasn’t until recently that I realised that this growth has become visible in my work too. The moment that marks that specific feeling of realisation is when I was scrolling through my instagram timeline. I noticed that the pastel/faded colours and the heavy ‘Nashville’ filter that have been ‘my instagram signature’ for so long had slowly evolved into more colourful, brighter photos with more contrast. And then it came to mind that that change had not only showed itself in how I present myself online, it had also happened in real life. Big time. My wardrobe has become much more colourful than it used to be and I decorated our house in a very different way than I did my previous home. And most of all: I realised I had never felt more like ‘myself’ than I do right now. Maybe I grew up. Although I really hope I didn’t, because I love to bring out the child in me. The Dutch Fashionista Magazine dedicated an entire shopping page to the llama. I was very happy when they contacted me to ask if they could feature my llama tattoo en llama carousel art print But of course! More after the jump!
And we’re right at the start of another week (again!). The weather has been pretty nice here in good ol’ Holland, which works wonders for my overall mood. It brought me lots of energy to start some exciting new projects. I also have a lot to share with you in the near future: some of my products were in a magazine and I made some changes in the presentation of my business to the outside world, which I’m looking forward to telling you about later this week. I’m about to get started on some fun stuff, but not before I shared another fresh dose of Inspiration with you guys. Enjoy!
When I was a kid, finding easter eggs that my parents had hidden in our back yard was one of the highlights of my year. Not to mention the painting the eggs before or afterwards. Because I love bringing out the child in me (and others) I designed this DIY (with free printable!) to make your own stylish bag to collect all the eggs in you found during the egghunt. Ready? Let’s go! More after the jump.
There’s nothing like that ‘monday feeling’ if you ask me. The feeling that anything can still happen for the week. The feeling of making a fresh start. I love it! I’m about to start another week of fun, including a new guest post for Team Confetti (all easter-ish) and I’ll start working on a new product. What are you up to this week?
Can you believe it’s monday again? Time sure flies when you’re having fun! And fun is something I definitely had this weekend, as I attended Creative Life: an event full of workshops, pretty stalls and creative seminars. It was great to meet so many of you lovely people. Being there gave me a real energy boost, so I’m totally up for the new week. I’ll be doing some work, but I also have a few meetings regarding wedding planning on my schedule, so that should be very exciting too! What are you up to?
Although I spend a lot of my working hours in my home office, I do tend to leave the house often for business meetings or whenever I decide to do some work in a different environment, like a cute coffeehouse. And when I’m on one of those little ‘business trips’ I tend to take a lot of stuff with me. Today I’m giving you the chance to peek into my bag whenever I’m on the road for work in this ‘What’s in my bag: the illustrator edition’. More after the jump!
