Although it may look like not much has happened here on the blog, a lot has been going on behind the scenes these past few weeks. This business card design for John (my fiancé) was among those things. John was invited to be a speaker at a philosophy conference in Parma (Italy) and right before he was about to take off, we realized he didn’t have a business card to present to new contacts and possible new clients. And so I decided to design him one last-minute.
Because there wasn’t a lot of time for this design, I decided to go with elements that were already in my design library instead of trying to come up with a last-minute concept. So I altered the portrait of John I drew a while ago, added a shiny new font et voilà: a business card is born.
The Dr. Seuss quote on the back was actually a joke from me. I needed a simple quote to show John what direction I was headed with the design and the idea was that he’d come up with a quote of his favourite philosopher. But in the end, he liked the pun in this one so much, he decided to go with the Dr. Seuss quote after all.
What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments. By the way: I also design business cards in commission. So if you’re looking for something unique, don’t hesitate to contact me.
