Blogarchief: Mijn 10 favorieten // Blog archive: 10 favourites

Blogarchive_Overview

Not only I will be celebrating my birthday later this month; so will my blog. Although I’ve had this website as a portfolio for my illustration work for quite some time, I only started using it as a blog after I graduated art school two years ago. This ‘blog-birthday’ seemed like the perfect opportunity to roundup some of my favourite blogposts of the past two (and then some) years.

1. Pimp my cabinet.
I actually wrote this post before I ‘officially’ started blogging, so  this is kind of a cheater. But I did want to share it with you because it was my first piece of furniture that I ‘pimped’ with my illustrations and because it’s simply worth sharing, since it’s still one of our favourite pieces of furniture to this day.

2. I am a lucky bastard.

2. I am a lucky bastard.
A post on a more personal note. John and I won ourselves a couple shoot by the wonderful Judith of Velvetine. In the middle of a herd of alpacas. It doesn’t get any better than that.

3. Italy llama invasion.

3. Italy llama invasion.
For those of you who have been following me for a while, it might not be new; I take a paper llama on a stick with me whenever I travel. I did the same when I went to London two years ago and last year when we roadtripped along the Westcoast of the United States. But this one’s from our trip to Italy in 2013.

4. Thirty five.

4. Thirty five.
Another personal post. Two years ago, John turned 35. Thirty-five days prior to his birthday, I wrote down a reason why I love him every day. Once his birthday came, I gave him this stack of paper full of love. This might sound total-cheeseball-ish, but sometimes you just need to say things out loud or write them down in order to realize how true they are.

5. My vintage vending machine.

5. My vintage vending machine.
Every time I post a picture somewhere with this baby in it, I get SO many questions about it. But early in 2014 I already wrote about it: my vintage vending machine.

6. Bailey’s milkshake recept.

6. Baileys milkshake recipe.
One of the best recipes I illustrated so far; this ‘Milkshake for grown-ups’.

7. Recap: On things you usually don’t see.

7. Recap: On things you usually don’t see.
The internet is full of pretty things, good things, nice things, successful things. The ugly things are usually very much unrepresented on the world wide web. In this recap, I had about enough of that and I shared some things that did not work out that well.

8. Thirty two selfies.

8. Thirty two selfies.
Last year, John and I made the journey of a lifeteime: a five week roadtrip along the westcoast of the USA. We took a selfie (almost) every day with this ridiculous selfiestick. And I don’t care how stupid that thing looks, or what people may think of it; we took thirty-two awesome selfies with it.

9. My knick knack collection.

9. My knick knack collection.
I think I could say I’m a hoarder. Even (or maybe especially) when I’m on vacation. I take loads of junk back home with me, only to throw it in the trash a few months after we came home. Last year, I decided not to do so and I made a digital scrapbook of things I collected.

10. Project Christmas.
Mijn bedrijfje groeide vorig jaar heel hard (gelukkig!).

10. Project Christmas.
My company grew a fair amount last year (thankfully!). At the end of the year, it was time to thank the people that helped me grow. I did so with this little snailmail project.

    groetjes Liza
