Stond jij als kind vroeger ook vooraan als het eieren zoeken met pasen van start ging? Ik wel! En omdat ik graag het kind in mijzelf (en anderen) naar boven haal maakte ik speciaal voor Team Confetti deze maand een DIY waarmee je zelf een super hip tasje kunt maken om al je gevonden eieren van de ‘egghunt’ in te doen. When I was a kid, finding easter eggs that my parents had hidden in our back yard was one of the highlights of my year. Not to mention the painting the eggs before or afterwards. Because I love bringing out the child in me (and others) I designed this DIY (with free printable!) to make your own stylish bag to collect all the eggs in you found during the egghunt. Ready? Let’s go!
Instead of illustrating the well-known ‘easter characters’, I decided to let the eggs themselves be the stars of the show this year. See how they love to paint each other and play dress-up?
You will need:
– Small canvas/linen bag(s)
– An inkjet printer
– The printable
– T-shirt transfer paper
– Ironing board
– Iron
– Scissors
This is how you do it:
Download the printable and print page 2 and/or 3 onto the T-shirt transfer paper following the instruction manual of your transfer paper. If the instructions say to mirror you illustrations, you needn’t do so, because I already mirrored them in the printable. Easy as pie!
Allow the printed transfers to dry for at least a couple of minutes (the instructions of my transfer paper said 30 minutes, so be sure to check the instructions!) and cut out the illustrations along the dashed lines.
Now play around with placing the illustrations on your bag to see how the design looks best on the bag you chose. Once you made a decision on where to place the illustrations, you can choose to take a quick picture, so you’ll be able to reproduce your chosen composition on the ironing board.
Iron the illustrations onto your bag following the instructions that come with your T-shirt transfer paper. Let the bag cool and you’re done!
I chose to decorate multiple bags in different sizes, just to see what the possibilities of the illustrations were. Turns out they’re endless! Now what are you waiting for?! Go egg hunting!
