If I had to pick a favourite social medium, I would pick instagram in a heartbeat. Total no-brainer! Instagram is the perfect social medium for people who love working with images, like me. It’s not a secret that I like posting images there myself, but instagram can also be a great source of inspiration for me. Since this blog is a place where I share everything that is part of ‘my life as an illustrator’, I want to share the 10 most inspirational (in my opinion) instagram accounts with you today. Happy Monday everyone! It’s time to make a fresh start with this new week. I don’t know about you, but I’m totally ready to get loads of stuff done this week. Now that spring is really kicking in I really try to keep my weekends free so I can (hopefully) enjoy some sunshine. So without further ado, let’s get this week started with the usual dose of Monday Inspiration!
This sunday I went to Utrecht together with the lovely Olga to attend the launch party of the new and improved Oh Marie!. Oh Marie! used to be an online magazine, but after founder Marlous had a baby last year, she decided Oh Marie! would be re-launched as an online community/blog this year. To celebrate the launch of ‘Oh Marie! 2.0′, she and her partner in crime Anne held a little launch party. Click through to read more about it!
Hosting workshops, setting up instagram challenges and making illustrations are things I can do all year round. But I’ve also got ‘seasonal proceedings’: selling my items on several markets! Last week, market season was kicked off with the Swan Market in my hometown Tilburg and now the season is in full swing for me. Which means I’ll be travelling all across the country (and maybe even outside of it) with all of my items every once in a few weeks.
With arranging a market stall comes more than meets the eye. As I can imagine, many of you might be having a market stall somewhere this season (King’s day, anyone…?). Whether you have a stall at a local flea market or at a fancy designer’s market, the basics of furnishing a market stall are the same at any kind of market if you ask me. Click through for tips on how to furnish a market stall and a free printable checklist for your first (or next) market!
After a kind of relaxing weekend (I think not a day goes by on which I don’t work at all, which is fine by me) I’m totally ready for the new week that’s ahead. My third guest-post for Team Confetti will go live tomorrow and I’ve got some exciting meetings coming up. But let’s start off with the usual dose of inspiration with this week’s Inspiration Monday.
What will your week look like?
TGIF you guys! I am more than ready for the weekend. But not before I’ve shared my latest and newest product with you; my Alice in Wonderland (cup)caketoppers. Those of you who have been following me on instagram might have already seen a sneak peek here and there and I shared part of the process here. Today it’s finally time to officially add them to the ‘franje family’. Click through for all the details and more images!
Okay you guys. I’ve got a coming out for you today. Because yes, I am a crazy llama lady. I’ve even been called that on Twitter this past weekend by the lovely Iris. And you know what? I’m proud of it. Because llamas are more than awesome. And I thought this blog could well use a little more llama lovin’. People send me SO many images, movie clips and other internet finds that concern llamas that I almost feel awful not sharing them. And let’s be honest; a lot of these finds simply are too good not to share. So I decided to spread some llama-love on this blog today with my favourite online llama-finds of the past weeks. Click through to see all of them!
Are you guys all ready for a new week? I sure know I am, because I’ve got a whole lot on my plate. I’ll be working on my weekplanner some more (I hope to get it to the printer asap) and I’ll be showing you another project I’ve been working on later this week. But let’s not get ahead of things; after all it’s Inspiration Monday first.
In my last ‘5 things I’m doing right now’ you’ve already seen a sneak-peek of my new stickers. But here they are for real! They premiered at the Swan Market in Tilburg last weekend and I must say they have made quite the impression. Which is awesome! Chlick through for all the details.
Remember I told you a while ago that I was working on preparing some new workshops? Well today I will be sharing more about that with you!
The lovely Lisa and I have been brainstorming and we’ve set up a mini course 3D illustration in June. This course consists of three lessons on three saturday afternoons in June: the 13th, the 20th and the 27th. All three of these lessons will take place at Lisa’s shop Elle Aime in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Click through to find out all the details about this course.
